Special Town Board Meeting Minutes

 

1. Call to order by Chairman Sotka
Chairman Sotka called the meeting to order at 4:33

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Roll Call

4. Approval of agenda
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0

5. Fire Department Guidelines and operations
The board discussed the Town of Lake Fire Department Guidelines that were approved in April of 2018. Chairman Sotka would like to void the guidelines. Supervisor Hanson proposed keeping Article I and Article V. The board agrees that once a new fire chief is appointed, he/she may appoint their Assistant Chief and Treasurer/Secretary, pending board approval. The board discussed the current state and issues of the fire department. Supervisor Hanson made a motion to amend the Town of Lake Fire Dept Guidelines with the exception of Article I: Name & Purpose and Article V: Stipends & Other Salaries. The board will maintain the authority of the fire department until new guidelines can be written. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0

6. Appointment of Fire Chief
Chairman Sotka met with four interested individuals for the vacant Fire Chief position. Chairman Sotka made a motion to appoint Jim Sanborn as Fire Chief. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0.

7. Adjourn
Supervisor Hanson made a motion to adjourn at 5:42pm. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
