Elections are held at the Town Hall. Poll hours: 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Building Permits: Needed for all work to be done on existing buildings and all new construction.

Sanitary Permits: New habitable building. Contact Marinette County Zoning (715-732-7535)

Shoreland Zoning Permit: Anything within 1,000 feet of a lake or 300 feet of a river. Contact Marinette County Zoning (715-732-7535)

Demolition Permit: Needed for razing any structure larger than 400 square feet

Any land split (creation of a new parcel or subdivision) must have an approved Certified Survey Map (CSM) before the division takes place. All CSMs should be sent to the town clerk along with the $60 review fee.

Garbage collection: Tuesdays beginning January 2006 including holidays which fall on Tuesday. Garbage must be out by 6:00 a.m. must weigh less than 50#. Only household garbage will be picked up. Non-complying garbage will not be picked up. Recyclable items can be taken to the Town of Stephenson recycling center located in Crivitz at 308 August Street. The hours are Wed. & Sat. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Town Hall Rental: Available to Town of Lake Residents only. Fee is $50. Please allow at least 7 days prior to rental date, if possible.  

Real Estate and Property taxes: Collected by Marinette County Treasurer (715-732-7430.)  Contact the Assessor, R&R Assessing Services, LLC Oconto Falls, WI 920-846-4250 with questions on valuation of properties.

THE TOWN TREASURER WILL NOT ACCEPT TAX PAYMENTS!

Dog Licenses. Required yearly by Marinette County. A Certificate of Rabies Vaccination by a licensed veterinarian is needed to obtain a license. Licenses are issued by the Town Clerk.

The Town does not have regular office hours. Any unsafe condition should be reported immediately to the Town Chairperson or Marinettte County Sherrif’s Department. If you have general questions or concerns, you should call the Township at (715) 854-2995 and leave a message. The Clerk or Director of Public works will check the messages regularly and give the message to the appropriate person who will contact you as soon as possible. Permits will be issued as quickly as possible but may take up to one week.
