Regular Town Board Meeting Minutes
1. Call to order by Chairman Sotka
Chairman Sotka called the meeting to order at 6:00pm

4. Approval of Agenda
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
5. Public Input
6. Approve and correct meeting minutes from Regular Town Board Meeting January 12, 2026
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from Regular Town Board Meeting January 12, 2026. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
7. Clerk-Treasurer’s Financial Report
Clerk Wilson gave the financial report. F&M Checking had a beginning balance of $388,833.99, deposits of $1,688,437.51, withdrawals of $608,108.43 for an ending balance of $1,469,163.07. F&M Fire Department Checking had a beginning balance of $63,370.03, withdrawals of $44.45 for an ending balance of $63,325.58. General savings had a beginning balance of $308,129.64, deposits of $46,566.90 for an ending balance of $354,696.54. Road construction had a beginning balance of $93,517.36, deposits of $294.02 for an ending balance of $93,811.38. Fire Dept savings had a beginning balance of $18,433.50, deposits of $57.96 for an ending balance of $18,491.46. Grant funds had a beginning balance of $42.90, deposits of 0.13 for an ending balance of $43.03. Supervisor Hanson made a motion to approve the financial report. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
8. Correspondence
A resident has expressed their concerns of the town not having utility permits for work done in the right of way. Election on February 17, 2026 for Marinette School District residents only. Public testing of the voting equipment is scheduled for February 10, 2026 at 10:00am. Office will be closed on February 25, 2026.

a. Planning Commission Report – nothing to report
b. Ordinance Committee Report – nothing to report
c. Public Works Report
d. Fire Department Report – Chief Gilbert gave the report. One lift assist, one mutual aid, and one fire. Cold water rescue training. Open house recruiting event on March 28, 2026 at 12:00pm. Polar Plunge fundraiser February 21, 2026 at 1:00 pm.

11. New business
a. Operator Licenses if any
Chairman Sotka made a motion to approve an operator license for Juli Schuette for Docker’s on Noquebay LLC. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
b. Debt Service Payment, Board of Commissioners of Public Lands for March 15, 2026
Supervisor Hanson made a motion to approve the final debt service payment of $68,358.23. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
c. Office Printer
Chairman Sotka made a motion to get quotes for renting or buying a new printer. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
d. Cellcom Phone Plan Upgrades
Supervisor Hanson made a motion to upgrade to 3 new phones at the cheapest upgrade with 3 GB of data for the plan. Seconded by Chairman Sotka. Carried 3-0
e. Cancelling Town of Lake Credit Card in Previous Clerk, Linda Tarmann’s Name
Chairman Sotka made a motion to remove Linda Tarmann from the card and cancel the card. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
f. Fire Department Checking Account Debit Card
Supervisor Hanson made a motion for the fire department to obtain one debit card for their fundraiser checking account at F&M. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. 3-0
g. Junior Firefighter Program
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the fire department’s Junior Fire Fighter program with pay to be determined at a later date. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
h. Fire Gear Extractor
Chief Gilbert obtained a quote for a fire gear extractor. Chairman Sotka would like the item to be put out for bid if needed. Chairman Sotka made a motion for the fire department to be able to purchase the extractor (washing machine) out of the fire department fundraising checking account, provided they do not need bids. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
i. Fire Department Air Pack Replacement
Chief Gilbert informed the board that the department’s air packs are expired. He will work on obtaining quotes. Item tabled by Chairman Sotka until the March or April meeting when more information is available.
j. Mill Rate Increase – Discussion only
Chairman Sotka discussed the possibility of a future mill rate increase due to increased costs and town needs.

Supervisor Burmek made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
